Le Mali 70

The documentary follows a Berlin-based big band on its journey to Mali, where the musicians hope to record an album with the legendary Rail Band. After discovering old records from Mali’s rich musical past, they set out to revive the unique big band sound. Despite cultural misunderstandings along the way, the musicians remain committed to making the project a success. This road movie through Mali is accompanied by vibrant Afro-Cuban big band jazz.
