“Did you mean composer (male)?” — This was the question Google still asked in 2018 when one typed in the word Komponistin (female composer). And when it comes to classical music, the spotlight has traditionally fallen almost exclusively on famous men: Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach are names everyone knows. With female composers, the situation looks quite different.
