Since the decision on multi-year funding, there has been a controversial debate within Frankfurt’s independent arts scene. Personal statements and open letters reflecting specific perspectives and interests have been circulating, while the local press has brought them to a wider public. At the same time, the conditions for improving our situation are favorable: there is a great deal of attention around our issues, a new funding system is being introduced, and the coalition agreement promises an increase in funding for our scene. So what could an overall perspective for our scene look like? What can we agree on? What is needed? How can all of this lead to a situation in which as many cultural workers as possible in the Independent Performing Arts can be satisfied with their working conditions? laPROF, ID_Frankfurt, and Theaterallianz Frankfurt invite you to think about these questions together.

Drinks will be available at cost price, as well as soup.

English whispered translation will be available.

The General Assembly will provide an impulse for the event on September 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., to which Produktionshaus NAXOS warmly invites you. Under the title „Frankfurt should! – Professional Conditions or Art as a Hobby?“ representatives from the independent arts scene, politics, and cultural funding will discuss the conditions needed for sustainable, professional performing arts in Frankfurt. The evening will then continue as an open forum, where the ideas and suggestions from the panel can be taken up, discussed further together, and developed into concrete recommendations for action.
